The Cloud arrives at the Serpentine Gallery, Kensington Gardens

The Serpentine Gallery has recently unveiled its exciting new pavilion designed by award-winning Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Aged 41, he is the youngest artist to have contributed an outdoor contemporary design to the gallery. The sculpture, covering 350 metres of lawn and constructed of semi-transparent, latticed steel poles is described as cloud-like. Its intricate shape blends magically into the landscape beside the Serpentine creating an illusion of fragility, despite being sturdy enough to climb for those unafraid of heights. It is an intriguing space with a café inside, encouraging visitors to enter and engage with the art-piece until October 30th 2013.
